Barnes Village

Took this one  in Barnes today. I really love the walk from the train station to the Wetlands, its beautiful- especially early in the morning! What a wonderful city London is! Journeying from South London to the South West is like transitioning from one world into a completely different one. When you leave the station you leave behind the city. No police sirens, bustling crowds or tower blocks. Just green earth and blue skies, the soft cry of the wind and the sound of birds. I'm really looking forward to spending the next few months learning more about birding and wetland conservation...

I believe that there is a subtle magnetism in Nature, which, if we unconsciously yield to it, will direct us aright.
Henry David Thoreau

And this, our life, exempt from public haunt, finds tongues in trees, books in the running brooks, sermons in stones, and good in everything.
William Shakespeare
